When they play the anthem and your watching on tv…?

When they play the anthem, and whoever is “trying” to sing it or play it, 1% of my attention is drawn to the people, and I want to be there with them, and be part of a large group of proud Americans. NASCAR people. I think I like them all

At my house, we do not place our hands over our hearts, stand up and be still. But instead, we can move around and all, but we must be quiet while the person sings the anthem. That’s all. Once he/she is done singing, we can start talking again. It’s a way of showing respect, for us.

No I do not. I am quiet and reverent but I do not stand. Long ago between WWII and Korea when people were actually patriotic the question was raised about this subject with the anthem on the radio. I was told that it was not necessary to stand and salute when listening. TV is no different.

I really never thought to do that, I only stand if I am viewing it live like at the race. I never stand up for the National Anthem when I am watching it on tv.

You know, when I’m at home, I don’t. But I always listen quietly and respectfully. At the track, I stand up, and put my hand over my heart. If I’m wearing a hat, or a visor, I take it off, even though I’m a girl. I’ve read numerous people complain that women don’t take their hats off, but I always do.

No I don’t, and I’m not going to feel bad for it. I don’t really see the point if I’m not there.

Actually, most of the time I change the channel before the anthem. If it’s disrespectful so be it. NASCAR manages to find a lot of bad singers to do it though. Do they ever get anyone besides country music singers to do it?

If I’m there I’ll stand up for sure.

Awww now I am going to look bad….LOL! No i do not stand up at home during the National Anthem. Gosh and I have no reason why, guess I never thought about it. Shame on me!

IN the races yes because if you don’t stand up they get mad and they might kick you out of the track. But when I’m at home I don’t watch the Preview show I just watch the racing

I’m usually standing up anyway – doing some chore so I can watch the race without feeling guilty. lol But I do stop what I’m doing and pay attention.

Other than a few times where I spaced out and didn’t realize it was playing, yes I do stand up.
