When you had pulled your credit report to take to a dealership, how recent does it have to be?

If I print my papers out but wait 2 to 3 weeks to go to a dealership will the accept those? Or does it have to be recent

Update:

Heather….What I print out will give them no reason not to trust. A credit report is legit and will say where it had came from. I know that you can print out your credit report and bring it to a car dealership instead of having them pull your credit which will be hit against your credit. I didn’t need your opinion, I just asked a simple question. Thank you

  • Auto finance is what I do for a living and all auto dealers and lenders will accept is a current report pulled the same day you actually apply for the loan.

Plus you must understand the reports that they see are much different then the ones you might bring in.

Auto dealers and lenders only look at what called “Auto enhanced” which is not available to the general public.

  • The dealership is not going to trust anything you print out. They will run a report themselves to get accurate, up to date information.

  • Most dealers won’t accept that. They’ll insist on running your credit through their system.

  • usually with in the last 30 days
