There are hundreds of cheap chicken coops available online, wherever you live, and they are nearly all imported rubbish, made of cheap wood which will not last a winter without leaking, distorting and coming apart. They are a total waste of money. Yes a good coop is quite expensive but if you want to keep chickens you have to realise that the basic equipment is expensive, even if the birds themselves don’t cost very much.
Try looking on eBay for a second hand plastic coop. Plastic is better for second hand coops as they can be completely taken apart and scrubbed to ensure you are not importing redmite, as is very often the case with wooden ones. Also they last much longer and have resale value, again unlike most wooden ones. Get a freestanding coop and instal this in a very secure walk- in run. Avoid coops with small attached runs which will be too small for your birds and impossible to keep clean. Remember each chicken will need a minimum of 2 square metres of run space. Most cheap coops greatly overestimate the number of birds you can safely and comfortable keep in their products.
