Marquez could have beaten DelaHoya, and Hatton even at 147. Trust me, it wasn’t about weight and Marquez COULDN’T beat Mayweather even if the fight had been at 126/130/135. But the Dela Hoya and Hatton that Pacquiao fought were both careless and would have fallen prey to an excellent boxer.
The Margarito without the loaded gloves is a good question. Marquez is better but would not have the power to hurt him, and even without loaded gloves Margarito would just be attacking all day. Cotto, much too powerful a body puncher, and an underestimated boxer. Clottey, much too defensive to be beaten by a counter-puncher.
that means marquez have to bloat himself up…
like his last fight on the welterweight less than 2 years ago?
he was obviously so bloated…
he performed so poor due to time constraint and got no professional help
from a nutrition and conditioning expert to hit the targeted weight properly…
my guess, insufficient budget from lesser fight purse.
besides, t’was just a tune-up fight cuz floyo just came out from a brief retirement.
everybody was surprised floyd’s opponent on his comeback fight came from the featherweights
but given the right resources, yea, a featherweight like jmm can do well in the welters…
possibly even comes really close in beating pac this november
trust me, he aint bloated this time but ripped…
it will be a fact!!!
hes too small, but he definitely would have beaten the dehydrated dlh that night. almost anyone would have.

Marquez hasn’t beaten a champion in his career. pacquiao’s last 12 fights were all against champions or former champions. Nuff said.
Floyd Jr fans when Pacquiao was “ducking” a third fight with Marquez. Now, they don’t believe that Marquez has a chance.
NOT MUCH BECAUSE HE’S NOT A WELTERWEIGHT..
His mom.

Marquez would destroy weight drained De La Hoya and Hatton. Cotto and Margarito I think would be way too much for him. I think he could beat Clottey, maybe.
