It’s the punch buggy effect. You noticed one ( Boston ) cause it was big news and all of a certain you’re noticing all the other ones that actually happen all the time. You should be asking yourself why you were so oblivious to them beforehand. US news tends to focus just on the US plus the troops, if you watched the news from another country, you would see a lot less about the explosions in America ( except the big ones ) and more of what’s happening outside the US
