He may have installed a variable speed blower which will help with generating the correct amount of CFM you need, but at the cost of more electricity. So the efficiency just got kicked out the door.
If the a/c starts freezing up, the duct is more than likely undersized. Keep an eye on the copper, suction pipe leaving the evaporator.
Maybe you should get another company out there to PM the a/c since its that time. Tell that company its a new system and to check the duct size.
there’s not your being rip off by the AC man, you can only get as much air flow as your heater fan can produce that central air we are talking about
