Would a game perform better on a laptop with a battery while using A/C power or is it the same as a laptop with no battery using A/C power?

It would be the same, since the laptop is powered by the ac cable whenever it is plugged in.
It would perform the just the same since in both cases it would be running on AC power. It would perform lower on batteries if it’s power profile settings are set to lower the processor performance to save power when on batteries, or just the same if they are not.
I don’t think the battery would affect it, usually batteries just determine whether a computer turns off or not.
