10 gauge wire for subwoofers in car ok?

I have a 12 watt spl with Sony xplodes, is ten gauge wiring ok to use for this set up??

  • If youre referring to the power and ground for the amp, at least 8 gauge is recommended. If you use 10 gauge(especially if its cheap 10 gauge) the wire might get hot and ruin on the inside. I recommend at least some quality 8 gauge so that you may avoid this problem. Some good wire brands:kicker, jl audio, memphis, stinger. For the wires from subwoofers to amp i would use 14 gauge minimum.
