1991 Honda Civic won’t start?

I have my daughter’s 1991 Honda Civic at the moment. It will not start by key (ignition). It can be pushed and pop the clutch and it fires right up. What would be the issue here? Turning the key powers everything up, starter was replaced, and yes, all of the wire connections were quadruple checked. Clutch safety switch? Distributer?

  • Distributer, sensor, battery
  • Ignition switch. That era Honda has problems with the contacts in the ignition switch – the contacts burn up. The electrical part can be replaced separately and is a moderately easy DIY job.

  • sounds like the ignition switch ! it sounds like the start position in the switch is bad !

  • It is the cylinoid or key switch its self
