Are there just TOO MANY banks? Aren't they everywhere?

Convenience and suburbia seem to drive erecting more locations. Would be interesting to see using S.I.C. numbers versus population what the trend line has been over the past 20 years. Starbucks anyone? lol

The problem is…how many of these “banks” can actually withstand the economy of today? While the “mortgage” boom was going on so was the new age of banking boom. Banks popped up on every corner with every name possible. Today unfortunately some are folding like houses of cards and some are barely holding on by a thread and “you” the consumer have no idea. There isn’t safety with the huge corporate banks anymore, and there definitely isn’t safety with the smaller banks anymore…is your money safer at home under your mattress again?

If the banks fail who loses, not the rich but the poor. All I hear is the rich are getting richer, true but ________. You finish it, I don’t know the answer.

The government let the big banks buy each other out until there are mega-banks which are only in it for a profit. I am not against making a profit but a smaller bank would not affect the economy less then the failure of a mega-bank.

Funny that, isn’t it? Apparently, all the Money’s gone down the Toilet, all the Banks are changing their names, merging, getting pwnded by the Governments, I don’t exactly know what’s going on there, but I know sh*t when I smell it!

Maybe I should set up my own Bank, seeing as you seem to be able to operate with negative assets, I’ve got nearly £10 in my pocket, and that seems to be more than some of these “Banks” are worth!

There are just TOO MANY bank cards in my purse. I’m not an international banking conglomerate – I just happen to have open accounts at like 4 banks. Why? I don’t know – maybe I like toasters. lol

Use to be we over runned by gas stations, pharmacies but now there is a bank on every corner where i live. I dont understand it.
