  • I do NOT. All the rule changes like green white checker finishes and double file restarts just add to the possibility of more crashes. Yeah, racing is dangerous, blah blah blah. They have added lots of rules to artificially close up the field and make for more possibility of passing so the fans get a better show. Most of the time nobody gets hurt, but all those wrecked race cars sure is expensive.

And eventually somebody’s gonna end up dead. Maybe even somebody in the grandstand.

The only rule that is a safety improvement was when they stopped keeping the same distance between cars during a yellow flag many years ago. Everybody cheated anyhow and it makes it much safer for track workers to attend to cleanup and take care of the driver.

You people who like carnage can thumb me down now. I don’t like extra crashes because I’m old enough to remember when several drivers a year got killed.

  • The Truck Series did that for years before the Cup Series finally adapted that. I do enjoy a Green-white-checker finish.

  • I do like them. I want to see cars race to the checkered flag. I don’t agree with Dave. I don’t think the rule changes have created a life threatening situation. The double sided restarts have put the slower cars to the back of the field and I think that has made it safer than when lead lap cars would be more aggressive as they tried to get around the slower cars at restarts. Yes Dave I am old enough to remember many crashes that were caused by the old restarts.

  • 1 but not more then

  • compared to the others the following I surely have a open-recommendations… i imagine that is a ‘ok’ theory. yet bear in mind formula One has 2-3x more suitable tracks than Nascar… truly than a eco-friendly-White-Checker. in basic terms make it eco-friendly/White-Checker. so that they in reality get a million eco-friendly flag lap of racing.

  • Yeah its better than finishing under a caution like someone else said.

  • Its okay for 1 GWC, if you do more than 1 it turns into fuel mileage race, or they just wreck more.

  • I like it because racing for a win is fun to watch. Being in the lead at a caution and handed a win because of the timing of that caution is kinda lame. On the flip side of that coin it isn’t fun to watch when your favorite driver is leading when that happens ..lol..

  • Yes far more exciting than finishing under caution.

  • Yes, of course I do. Who doesn’t? I like cars beatn’ and bangin’ for the win on a GWC. The only bad thing is that you usually have one person who is a good restarter and dominates them, like Kyle Busch for example. But yes, in the end I like them.

Source(s): The only thing better than a night race or a GWC is a GWC during a night race.
