round pearl in a clam
✅ Answers
Answerer 1
Pearls can be found in any bivalve mollusk – clams, mussels, oysters, cockles, etc. However, those found in clams are not worth anything. The outer surface of a pearl has the same texture and color as the inner lining of the shell. An ordinary clam, or an ordinary edible oyster, has a dull white interior, so the pearls it produces have a dull white exterior. The shells of pearl oysters have an iridescent glossy interior, so the pearls they produce have an iridescent glossy exterior, which is what makes them valuable.
