Guinea pigs fighting?

Okay so i got this guinea pig and i decided to name him Snowie….and then i was doing more research of guinea pigs and what they need and it said that its better for guinea pigs to have a pal because they need attention and you cant always be there with them. So i decided to go get another guinea pig from Pet smart. And we named him Mike. The first time we put them together Snowie kept getting on top of Mike multiple times (there both males) and I read that its normal because they were decidedwhose the boss and stuff. And then it got out of control so we sseparatethem for three days and then put them back together and stuff, and it was normal till three days ago there was lots and lots of chattering, during the night, But during the day its was normal so i dint pit much attention to it. Then today i was doing some laundry so i was on the ground with them next to their cage and then a whole lot of teeth chattering started and then they were all puffy and they were throwing their self to each other. I searched what was happening and it said to separate them in case this happened. And while i was searching they both got in one house and then Snowie came out with a red nose and i checked it and it was bleeding. So i put Mike in another cage. Should i separate them forever? Because the fighting? because they keep talking to each other threw the cages and stuff…. was it just a one time thing? I got Snowie like a month ago…and then Mike a week later.

Update:

Oh i got a new cage so its not the same on as it was at first

  • You have to introduce them to the same “territory” around the same time. Snowie claimed the cage as his own territory, a week later Mike entered it. Snowie views it as a total stranger walking into his house, and Mike sees it as someone’s taking up his space.

You may have to separate them forever.

  • Mike might be younger than Snowie so separate them forever. One might get injured
