One of my rifles is a Remington Model 740 and it was offered in many grades, 740A, 740ADL 740Bdl 740F(premier) and some others. The 740 ADL was the 740 with checkering, sling swivels and a bit better action. I have these features so mines at least a 740 ADL. The only difference between 740 ADL and 740BDL is the grade of wood, so how can i tell what grade wood i have?
I have seen many others and my wood looks nicer but im not sure heres a couple photos

Easy, Call Remington Customer service with the Serial Number and they will tell you the exact model it is, or was shipped out at from the factory.
Judging from your pictures, I am going to say that it is a BDL – **if** the stock checkering is factory original.

I don’t know, but that Savage Sporter you have on the same page is a nice looking rifle.
