How long does it take for baby mocking birds to learn how to fly?

There is an adorable little mocking bird family right next to my house!!!:DD I’m so excited to see the babies fly away! But how does it take them to grow up and fly away?

P.S. I know your supposed to stay away from the babies!! I saw the nest today, and I am just going to watch from my house.

  • It takes about 2 weeks for the chicks to fledge but they still need another few days to a week to get good at flying. There’s a learning curve for birds so they may be on the ground hiding in brush for a day then they are able to get up to lower branches on bushes, the parents still feeding them & watching, ready to dive-bomb any perceived threat.
