I’m planning to install ducting for the kitchen extract hood and only place I can get it out is above a window. It is made of brick work in a arch and is it safe to make a hole for mmxmm flat pipe three inch above the top edge of the window frame?

Hi, i wouldn’t advise to do this, the area above a window frame is supporting the above brickwork, the arch shape will be made to create a bridge type support, this method was use allot years ago as we now use metal or concrete lintels to carry the load.
Try to look for another option if possible.
