How to do know what IP are connected to my wifi network?

I have an open wifi network that I keep that way for people to use,

but I’d like to know the IPs of the people who use it(friends who are neighbors).

How do i go about finding that out ?

Thanks,

  • Get a program to scan the network.

Nmap is a good program that does that.

Or you can log into your router and see from there (if your router supports it).

  • Your router is set to be a DHCP server and gives out the IP address to the people that joing your network.

The router should have a screen that gives a DHCP Clients Table, on my router it is found under the tabs “STATUS”, “Local Network”.

That screen will give you the MAC address and Computer Name of the people that are using your connection. The IP address will always be a private address in the range set up by your router and will not identify the people, but the computer name may help.
