  • There would only be grants i the house is a historical building. If it is you need to go to the organization declaring it so, which could be federal, state or local.

  • First read your brought up to date abstract to see who the the oldest listed owner was and their significance and work forward

    then do some checking on the known history of the house in the surrounding area- historical society

    also as you are doing work look for clues, carved in wood or the stones or behind walls
