I used time machine to restore my mac and it made a Macintosh HD file that I could only see in Aperture and not in the finder. How do I find this in the finder because it’s it taking up GB of my hard drive space.

Use a specified finder search, by setting up “system files” within the search criteria.
And before you delete the file you may want to be certain the system doesn’t need it in some way. Mentioning what Mac OS you are using would have been helpful.
