I want to take a treat to my son's class for his birthday. He is in 3rd grade. Any ideas?

  • First talk to the school about any restrictions. Many schools will not allow home baked goodies anymore due to allergy issues. If you have a green light to bring whatever you want, next I’d ask the teacher if there are any known allergies in the classroom, if the teacher has any requests of what to or not to send and what time works as well as confirm how many kids will be there (always bring extra, offer some to the teacher, aides and any other parents that might be volunteering during that time).

Next mini cupcakes are great. The large ones are usually just too much during the school day. Oreo cookies are non-allergy based cookies so good for everyone. Bring in juice boxes/pouches or mini waters. Another option that is fun is chocolate dipped pretzel sticks (made at home), or a giant cookie with some frosting. Popcorn has always been a huge success at my son’s schools.

Whatever you decide make it something small, that will not take a lot of time to eat or make a large mess. Most of it will be thrown away.

  • Brownies. Cupcakes. Cookies.

  • There are all sorts of treats! Just gotta narrow it down to what you want to bring. Something sweet? Savory? Salty?

    -Cupcakes or cake pops

    -Brownies ; nut free though

-Cookies ; never met a kid who didn’t like Chocolate Chip!

-Goldfish crackers or any individual wrapped snack treat

    -Rice Krispies

    -Popcorn Balls

-Candy treat bag ; M&M’s,Skittles,Sweet Tarts,Mini Hersey bars etc. Just no candy with nuts of any kind due to that being a common allergy.

-Ice Cream ; I’d opt for the little cups of ice cream, then just provide plastic spoons.

  • Fruit Pizza. However, If the kids have nut allergies you would have to make the crust from scratch as the sugar cookie dough bought in stores are made in a factory with peanuts.

  • First check with the school to see if they only allow certain items. Most do not allow any sort of nuts which includes peanut butter. Then check with the teacher to ask if she/he knows if anyone in the class has any diet restrictions.

  • Bring cupcakes that are not frosted. Bring frosting and other items such as sprinkles so that the kids can decorate them. They can be creative with it. Bring things like gummy worms or other gummies that make it gross for the boys.

  • From Kindergarten to 4th i brought in cupcakes for my birthday 🙂

  • Well, the fact is your dad might not be able to afford it right now. He breaks his back to make money, he broke his back to raise you to where you are now, to provide for you- and he might take the fact that you’re trying to guilt him into buying you one as ungrateful…you should feel bad that you’re putting him in a position where he feels guilty! SHAME on YOU

And you know what!? think about THIS while you’re at it: Maybe he doesn’t want to see you in a hospital bed with your intestines and muscle tissue exposed, your neck broken and your spinal column severed (rendering you a paraplegic for life).. from that really horrible fall you took- even though you were being “responsible” on it. The world doesn’t owe you anything. Grow the ___ UP. Little kids like you are the reason I’ll never get laid.

  • ice cream, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, etc.

kids love those kinds of foods

  • Brownies or cookies, or maybe cupcakes
