My 12 year old son’s cell phone is recieving alot of unknown calls, how can i protect him from them?

wtf is this ??????email me back about this joke of a website

Oops! It looks like you have 1 misspelling(s).

the above typed words ,are the response i recieved ,as an answer to a serious and very relevant question. The question i asked “yahoo answers” involves a child, meaning….when when the word child is used, ….give answers immediatley,so the”child”involved ,in the inquiry, can be protected while using services, such as “yahoo.ca”
By deflecting my valid and very serious question about how to protect my CHILD from unwanted and ,to him, “scary and stressful” calls, text messages and emails, that “Yahoo!’ has first hand, required and recognized information on,….you made”yahoo!” seem like any other company that doesn’t actually care.
Your responsiblity for your actions do matter because you are, basically,an essential service now. one that makes alot of money, so when i am scared and worried for my child’s level of stress.. and i ask you,”yahoo!” if you can help????? don”t ever think that pointing out my spelling mistakes ,and your ability to correct my spelling mistakes will make me forget my question! it just makes me have more qeustiuons, questions,……and your community guidelines should include ,immediate and direct answers to questions about CHILDREN,……..AND THEN ASK ME TO CHECK WHAT I HAVE TYPED BEFORE I AM ALLOWED TO SUBMIT IT??????? AND IT WILL COST ME 5 POINTS???? THIS SUBMISSION WILL NOT ONLY BE SENT TO “YAHOO!’

make a police report or complaint or shut his phone for a month or more

Well, you can’t block every unwanted call.
Here is how it works. Your phone company makes money by selling your # to companies and such.
They are the reason why you have spam calls.
You can pay your service provider to filter, but it is now always successful.

is not responsible for your child’s cellphone.

If you are worried, just get him a new sim card and throw the old one away. He’s 12. He doesn’t need a fixed phone number – he only needs a phone to make emergency calls.

Can you change his phone number, make sure it is silent (not available for sales promotions and he doesn’t enter competitions etc. with it) and start again? Maybe that might help stop the unwanted calls. Not sure. Good luck with it. Also, I guess at least your son can only answers calls from numbers he knows (might help a bit).

maybe your son should not have given out his cell number…

On your profile page on yahoo! you can choose people can email me and IM. Is it possible someone typed in their cell number wrong and put your son’s in instead? That would be the only reason your son is getting these emails/texts. TYPO. Can you go to contact YA and ask them, “What if someone puts in the wrong cell phone (it belongs to someone else) and this person is receiving emails/texts they did not request? You can support your statement with a copy of the bill, cell #, and name. Then inform them that if the do NOT remove your sons #, you will hold them as the responsible party WHEN he receives pornographic information.

    Try that, mama, good luck!
