My 8 year old sister acts like a 3 year old….she talks in a baby voice and whines all the time! She is smart, but doesnt try…if shes hungry she wont make a sandwhich she will whine and whine until someone makes something for her…Just the way she acts and talks she seems more like a 3 or 4 year old than an 8 year old….my friend recently suggested that maybe she has autism? Any ideas? or is she just stretching out being the “baby ” of the family for attention….any suggestions or ideas or knowledge or tips or anything would help! 🙂

Well, that is pretty unacceptable, yet I’m sad to say I’ve seen worse. It’s quite normal for a kid to go through that phase.
My daughter is 9 and went through that phase about 2 yrs earlier. She doesn’t act like that anymore. My 12 yr old step daughter does though. She acts like a snobby brat and doesn’t do her laundry or make food. She doesn’t exactly talk like a baby, but she is very disrespectful.
No she probably doesn’t have autism. Your parents do need to lay down the strict rules with her. That can get very annoying and she needs to learn how before it gets worse in her future.
