I have two rats. A dumbo (Phineas) and a fancy (Phillip). Both are boys. Phineas snuggles me and grooms me and naps with me. He adores me!! Phillip does not like me at all. He runs and hides every time I open the cage. He squirms away when I hold him. He’s never bitten though (neither have). Also Phillip refuses to potty train! Phineas potty trained quickly and hasn’t had a single accident. They are both healthy weights, live in a huge cage (4 levels, lots of tunnels and toys). I need help. How can I make Phillip train well and trust me? I’ve used every tip online.

Try placing them in a smaller cage and show ur ratty that you can be trusted. somtimes having a bigger cage equals more space which somtimes makes the rat feel almost free? so i would suggest havin a littler cage untill he warms up to you. just be calm around him and always be gentle.
