The sizes of the bugs I have seen have ranged from half an inch to almost four inches long. I live in North Texas. I just recently moved here. i want to know if this bug will bite or if it carries diseases. It is black with brown or tan legs. It looks like it has a pincher like thing on its backside. I have a picture of it but I am not sure if I can post it here. Will e-mail a pic if you ask.

try posting a picture to one of those free hosting sites, then posting the link here…there is not too may creatures four inches long in the Dallas area, I have never seen an earwig up here longer than an inch…if the creature had lots of legs it could be a large centipede or a giant millipede, but once again I have never come across them in the Dallas area…walking sticks ( stick bugs) get pretty big, but are harmless other than a foul odor they have
