  • None of the “Big Chain” guys…not for many many years. Though I suppose that I could possibly stomach Wendy’s, or Burger King…but not Mickey D’s. Not really into the fast-food chain outlets.

Greeneyes and I go to a place up here in Calgary called “Peter’s Drive In”…not only are their burgers fantastic, but their Onion Rings are to die for as well!

History…very cool interview with the owner/founder:

Here’s a testimonial by actor Hugh Jackman (Wolverine etc) found on the home page…

“I also learned quickly Calgary has the best Hamburgers in the world. My driver took me to Peters’ Drive-In one day. After that I’d find any excuse I could to go back there.”

Both Greeneyes and myself have considered ourselves burger connoisseurs for many years, and neither of us have ever found a burger joint that comes close to “Peter’s Drive In”….well with the possible exception of these guys…”Boogies Burgers” located just a short distance from “Peter’s Drive In”…

“Boogies Burgers” even has a sign out front saying “Peter’s Drive In? Why even bother?”…pretty tough claim, and they do come very close. They also have what they refer to as a “P-Jar”. If you mention the name Peter…it’s a house rule that you deposit 25 cents into the jar, Lol.

“Burger Inn”, also located in Calgary makes a darned tasty burger too…they also get quite exotic, if you’re into that sort of thing…Wild Boar, Ostrich, Buffalo, Elk, etc etc…or just plain ‘ol beef too if that’s your fancy…

We also make some wicked homemade burgers!

    Goodnight 🙂

    Edit –

@ Detroiter1967…yeah, the “booger” reference has crossed my mind over the years as well. It would be a big disappointment if one day I found out that it was their secret ingredient. I’d probably wind up looking at my own nose in a whole new way though, Lol. I believe the term “Boogie” is in reference to moving along fast, “I’m going to boogie on over and grab myself a Boogies burger”…the place opened up in 1969, so that’s pre-disco…they used to have a picture something like this on their sign years ago…

  • Burgers.

  • The only one of the restaurants on that list that I like at all is Wendy’s. I will go to McDonald’s but only for breakfast. My favorite burger places are Carl’s Jr. and Jack In The Box.

I do prefer to cook my own burgers but only outside on the grill. I hate pan-frying burgers at home.

  • D) Ihop’s Monster Burger is pretty good. I’m into the little “Krystal’s or White Castle’s” but, mainly the restaurants burgers. BK Lounge is alright. Don’t care for McD’s and haven’t gone to Wendy’s in years.

Comment @ Smiley~ Boogies Burgers LMAO ewww does that mean the cook flicks boogies in the burgers to make them either slide down better or extra crisp?? The name would turn me against going there even if the burgers were good. Thanks for the testimonial on the ” Peter’s Drive In” there in Calgary. LOL : ) Jilly

Nighty nite scooter, hope the job is going well so far. : )

  • Scooter, again with all the impossible choices?!? I like A-C, especially BK’s Whopper and Wendy’s Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers–YUM!! But I also like Mr. Hero’s Romanburger and making them at home, whether it be turkey or regular that I season with some Mrs. Dash, onion and garlic powders, and liquid smoke. And hey, I love a good Morningstar or Boca Burger.

  • A) I love Mickey D’s. It tastes awesome and it’s cheap.

Now…. if I want to eat an awesome burger without worrying about money. I got to go with D and say that the burger from the Cheesecake Factory is made by God. It is the most delicious thing ever.

  • B) Burger King.

  • B, C & F, BK has a veggie burger, which is acceptable at times when nothing else is available.

Wendy’s has baked potato that can be had without the trimmings Wendy’s offers.

  • A-E but not every burger from Wendys or McDonalds.

Hey Scooter, good to see you ask a question in this section !

Whopper, Big Mac, and Jr Bacon Cheeseburger are my 3 favorites from a-c

  • Of the corporate ones you mention in your list….probably Burger King, but only for the chicken sandwich one.

As for everything else, I agree with Smiley 1% 😀

In Mexico City we have a joint called La Cabana de Fuentes, also very good. They make Tex Mex burgers with huge patties, pineapple, chopped jalapenos and onions….very good as well. Starting in a tiny street joint and serving after hours to the “alcoholized” young crowd….the owner made a load of money and moved to Canada while selling this franchise.

Here someone mentions them on YAhoo Mexico.
