The problem with the God belief and "free will" argument?

Many questions and statements here involve the discussion that God gave us free will and the will to believe in him and so forth along with what happens to those who don’t accept god.

Let’s seriously stop and think about this for a moment.

Just try to think what if people who aren’t Christian never heard of any Christian beliefs or heard of the Bible.

They obviously would never had any knowledge of god,”free will” and why or why the shouldn’t accept god. Makes sense… right?

So how could a god give mankind “free will” or how can mankind feel he might go to Hell if he never heard of or followed that Christian belief?

Did god tell me I have “free will” or that I might burn in Hell for eternity?

Nope, No god ever spoke to me.

Alot of the people and different cultures on this entire planet have nothing to do with Christianity, let alone any other religion which expresses that they live under a god that gave them free will.

So how can all of mankind be judged or blamed for their religous beliefs or lack of. If their decisions go against that of the Christian belief or Christian god, then they might not even know it because they aren’t Christians.

When speaking of “free will” you would have to be so closed minded to other cultures and assume that every person on this planet was a Christian or believed in the Christian god.

That is obviously not the case….is it?

Update:

craig and all some of you other,

The only reason I heard of god and any of the Christian teachings is that I happen to live a Christian society where religious people provide this.

What if I lived alone in some desolate area of the planet with nothing to show me that god or religion even exists.

Furthermore, what makes me have to trust what any religious group says.

Just because Christians says a god gave me free will, doesn’t mean I have to believe them.

There are all kinds of people that tell lies. Christians are included. So don’t put yourself into any category of what Christians say must be true.

  • Christianity is the most absurd and bloody lie to ever infect humanity.

  • “They obviously would never had any knowledge of god,”free will” and why or why the shouldn’t accept god. Makes sense… right?”

—- Grammatically, it makes no sense. Well, the bible says those who never heard the gospel will be judged according to their conscience: “for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, 15 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) 16 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.” (Rm 2.14-16).

Therefore, it just DOESN’T MATTER if they didn’t believe in God or they didn’t have any notion about free will theologically speaking. God will judge them according what is written in Rm 2.14-16. Just tell me, where is free will taken out here?

“When speaking of “free will” you would have to be so closed minded to other cultures and assume that every person on this planet was a Christian or believed in the Christian god.”

—— To deny free will on the bases you have put to us shows a great lack of the basics of the bible.

And you know what? The very cultures used to believe in God and the greatest thinkers of the world, yet non christians, defended free will.

  • The creator knows you.

He knows every single word that was EVER spoken to you from the day you were born until the day you die. He knows exactly why you are the way you are… and he loves you still. Because he is all knowing, his judgement of you will be good and righteous. A perfect judgement.

No one has the right to tell you what that judgement will be. The reason why I would be a little arrow pointing to Jesus, is so that you can experience NOW what it means to live in God’s kingdom and have a relationship with him. Most people are spiritually dead. They don’t know it… ironically walking around like zombies…. God wants to wake you up. Leave the temporary pleasures of this world, and find joy with him. That’s the promise. It’s a good one…. it’s everything you ever imagined.

He is jealous for your love. If you are one of the chosen, he will lead you to Christ. Why would you be chosen and not the next guy? I have no idea… but I trust God knows.

  • First, God does not have to “speak” to every single person. He has established the Church to do that and sent out people on missions. (Gen 12:1-3)

Second, you obviously KNOW what this is about because you said it! So, now you have been told. What are YOU going to do with it?

Third, there is a common theological argument (apologetics) that if a person dies without ever being informed of God during this life, they will be told when they come before God in judgment. They have now and will then continue to have this “free-will” to choose God.

This is only fair. You have to keep in mind that God is one thing for sure – FAIR.

  • Yep, you are right. What you are talking about is, how come some born in a Christian famliy and other don’t, how come some born rich and other very poor and so on… Karma – without knowledge about karma we can’t talk about this point. The soul is not Christian or Muslim or atheist or whatever…

Read the Gita, you will be atonished with load of information there.

  • God said that only those who received his message will be judged. I don’t think that there are still people out there who haven’t heard of God. I’m not a Christian though.

  • your wrong. christians do not believe atheists or other religious beliefs are going to hell.

  • this is where the “god works in mysterious ways” excuse comes in handy
