Theres a nest in a rosebush in front of my house the mother always attacks when I walk outside and she is always there. I havent seen her all day and there are several feathers on the ground. I think a cat got her and one of the babies too. There are 3 babies that are 5 days old. The dad still comes and feeds them regularly but doesnt sit on the nest to keep them warm. should i take them to a wildlife shelter or just leave them since the dad is still around?? HELP please!!

NO!!!!!! LEAVE THEM ALONE! IF one parent is still there that is fine..it will do a better job than ANY human can do in caring for it. Once chicks are fully feathered..the parents DON’T sit on them unless there is a storm or it particularly cold. Butt out and let nature take its course. If you own pets..keep them indoors until they leave the nest. The predator may come back..but if it does that is nature too. Hope that it does not.

You’re doing a lot of generalising here… I feel what it comes down to is handiest ever leaving your youngster with any individual who that you may completely believe. Boyfriends have harm toddlers, however so have little one care vendors and so have Dads, and so have mums. No-one can also be innocent or guilty headquartered on their relationship to the youngster. Sure, if we’re speaking about unemployed losers who do medicinal drugs and drink at the same time watching after the youngster… Yeah bad choice… But that man or woman isn’t consistently the boyfriend, and the boyfriend isn’t continually that individual ETA…. Precisely!!! Women who entirely believe the character are doing the best they in all probability can, however people who don’t believe the person and still depart the little one in their care are the ones who must be vindicated in my mind (in spite of who the carer is and the way they’re concerning the little one/mom) ETA (once more… Above ETA was once to your Casey Todd remark) i do know that it is a theme, but there’s still the truth that there are respectable boyfriends in the market, and there are lousy fathers, and awful youngster care providers and lousy mothers… For me, many of the stories i have read contain the mother, as a minimum to come back extent. Which to me, signifies that figuring out the individual, and judging them competently is more most important than judging them centered on their relation to the baby. I do recognize what you’re saying. It’s a particular theme… However I also comprehend boyfriends who’ve stepped as much as the plate and carried out a rattling excellent job where the organic father was once simply an ****!
I would take them to a shelter. The chances are good that cat will come back. You can relieve the stress on the parent bird by doing that and possibly save more than one bird’s life that way. Good for you.
