What software is causing my BSOD?

I got a BSOD last year and I didn’t know what the hell it was. So I ignored it thinking it was probably just a crash. But after careful research, I found it was a BSOD. So I brought it to a computer technician and he “fixed” it.

For a while the computer was fine but recently I started getting the BSOD again saying that there is a hardware or software not installed correctly and I can’t do a system restore since the problem started a long time ago.

How do I find out what software or hardware is causing the BSOD?

P.S. I have already done a malware scan and deleted all my viruses.

P.S.S I have an Hp compaq d CMT with Windows XP Pro. And Processor B v . //

Update:

Tim. How the hell is that remark supposed to help me in any friggin’ way?

  • Usually it’s due to an out of date or buggy driver. All you really need to do is analyze the crash memory dump.

There’s plenty of information in the help documentation near the bottom of the page. It’s helped me a few times. Fix the driver responsible for the BSOD as shown in the report.

What I normally do if this doesn’t work:

Reinstall all drivers from back up using software that can do it for me.

Remove any recently installed software (installed just before the BSOD started) – not much help in your case.

Make a list of all suspect drivers then check for updates for those drivers.

Fix any other system errors using Runscanner in expert mode and run CheckDrive from Abelsoft.

  • It appears like your familiar troublesome force is going undesirable. of direction, SSDs are commonplace to be much less sturdy than troublesome drives with shown technologies and spinning platters. in case you have been interior the technique of copying records from one force to a distinctive while the BSOD exceeded off, then the subject is in one in each of three particular aspects: a million) source troublesome force ) RAM on the motherboard ) trip spot troublesome force thinking your important force became no longer detected (at first) on reboot, this is a great purple FLAG pointing at a undesirable important force… So I see indicators pointing on the OCZ SSD being undesirable, if the OCZ became the source force for the document pass…

  • You could always take a look at the “Event Viewer.” Go to: Control Panel –> Admin Tools –> Event Viewer

Go to the “Windows Logs” folder and check out the “Application” and “System” log entries for the date your PC last died. Look for entries with red or yellow icons on them. When you find one that looks like a BSOD entry, do an Internet search on the details and see if there’s a fix.

    Good luck!
